Global Law and Society Journal (GLSJ) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing critical scholarship at the intersection of legal systems, governance structures, and societal transformations. As legal frameworks globally face rapid evolution due to globalization, technological advancement, and shifting socio-political dynamics, GLSJ provides an intellectual platform for scholars, legal theorists, and social scientists. The journal emphasizes macro-philosophical inquiries, comparative jurisprudence, and empirical socio-legal research that illuminate how law both shapes and is shaped by human culture, social institutions, and global norms.

Scope and Topics

GLSJ invites original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical review essays across a broad spectrum of socio-legal studies, including but not limited to:

  • Socio-Legal Theory & Comparative Jurisprudence: Philosophical foundations of law, legal pluralism, cross-jurisdictional legal systems, and the sociology of law.

  • Human Rights, Social Justice, & Global Governance: Transnational legal orders, international humanitarian law, minority rights, and institutional equity.

  • Law, Technology, & Contemporary Society: Ethical and legal dimensions of digital transformation, AI governance, cyber law, and privacy rights within socio-economic structures.

  • Environmental Law & Sustainable Development: Legal frameworks addressing climate change, natural resource management, bioethics, and environmental justice.

  • Public Policy, Crime, & Criminology: Restorative justice, penal reform, institutional integrity, and the socio-economic impacts of regulatory policies.

Publication Frequency

The Global Law and Society Journal is published twice a year (June and December). Special issues or thematic sections focusing on emergent socio-legal challenges may be published periodically upon approval by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process

To maintain the highest standards of academic rigor and integrity, GLSJ enforces a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial evaluation for scope relevance, originality, and adherence to academic ethics. Suitable manuscripts are subsequently reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers. Final decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection reside with the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer recommendations.

The mission of the Global Law and Society Journal is to bridge the gap between abstract legal doctrine and real-world societal realities.
