JARA RANGGA: Journal Aplikasi Riset Animalia: Riset Nutrisi, Genetika, dan Agribisnis is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering applied research in the dynamic fields of animal science, veterinary agriculture, and livestock development. Positioned as a premier multidisciplinary scholarly forum, the journal serves animal scientists, geneticists, livestock nutritionists, agribusiness strategists, and agricultural policymakers worldwide. JARA RANGGA prioritizes rigorous empirical field studies, advanced laboratory research, and comprehensive socio-economic analyses that address the complex challenges of modern animal husbandry. By focusing precisely on the triad of Animal Nutrition, Genetics, and Agribusiness, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how optimizing genetic potential, advancing feed technology, and managing livestock supply chains can drive sustainable food security, animal welfare, and rural economic growth.

Scope and Topics

The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical literature reviews, and empirical field studies that offer significant contributions to the following core thematic areas:

  • Animal Nutrition & Feed Technology (Riset Nutrisi): Ruminant and non-ruminant nutrition, forage science, feed additives and supplementation, alternative feed resources, metabolic studies, and advanced feed processing technologies.

  • Animal Genetics, Breeding & Reproduction (Riset Genetika): Molecular genetics, quantitative breeding frameworks, conservation of indigenous animal genetic resources, genomics, artificial insemination, and reproductive biotechnology.

  • Livestock Agribusiness & Socio-Economics (Riset Agribisnis): Livestock supply chain management, farm enterprise modeling, animal product marketing, livestock economics, and the socio-economic empowerment of local farming communities.

  • Animal Health & Welfare Management: Preventive veterinary medicine, epidemiology of livestock diseases, animal welfare standards in farming operations, and bio-security measures.

  • Applied Livestock Technology & Environment: Smart farming (IoT in animal husbandry), livestock waste management, environmentally sustainable farming systems, and climate change adaptation in livestock production.

Publication Frequency

To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of critical animal science research, JARA RANGGA is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on urgent global food security challenges, outbreak management (e.g., zoonotic or livestock diseases), or disruptive smart-farming technologies may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process

JARA RANGGA enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, scientific validity, and empirical objectivity.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness (quantitative, qualitative, or experimental design), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.

  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic experts or senior practitioners in the specific domain of animal science or agribusiness.

  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the intellectual merit, scientific rigor, and practical applicability of the work to the livestock and agricultural sectors.

Mission Statement

The mission of JARA RANGGA is to deconstruct systemic barriers in livestock production and catalyze transformative, sustainable animal farming practices within a rapidly changing global climate. Grounded in the philosophy that robust animal nutrition, resilient genetic diversity, and equitable agribusiness frameworks are the absolute anchors for global food sovereignty and rural economic prosperity, the journal aims to democratize advanced veterinary and agricultural knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse and rigorous methodological approaches—encompassing laboratory biotechnology, field trials, and socio-economic market modeling—JARA RANGGA seeks to empower animal scientists, inspire agribusiness innovators, and shape future-proof, evidence-based livestock policies worldwide.
