Islamic Education and Ethical Economy Journal (IEEEJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the intersection of Islamic pedagogy, character building, ethical finance, Islamic economics, and social responsibility. Positioned as a premier interdisciplinary scholarly forum, the journal serves Islamic studies scholars, educationalists, Islamic economists, Sharia compliance experts, ethical finance analysts, and socio-economic policy developers worldwide. IEEEJ prioritizes rigorous empirical research, philosophical and conceptual inquiries, qualitative field studies, socio-economic impact evaluations, and comparative analyses that examine how Islamic values and educational models drive ethical economic practices, poverty alleviation, human capital development, and sustainable financial governance. By synthesizing Islamic pedagogical principles with modern economic frameworks, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how value-based education and ethical financial systems build resilient, moral, and socially just communities.

Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to bridge Islamic educational paradigms with ethical socio-economic models, the journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic literature reviews, conceptual frameworks, and empirical field evaluations within the following thematic areas:

Islamic Pedagogical Paradigms & Character Education: Integration of Islamic ethics (Akhlaq) in modern curricula, Islamic higher education management, character-building methodologies, and values-based teaching frameworks.

Islamic Economics, Banking & Sharia Finance: Islamic banking mechanics, Sukuk (Islamic bonds), Takaful (Islamic insurance), Sharia governance, corporate social responsibility in Islamic institutions, and ethical investment strategies.

Socio-Economic Development, Zakat & Waqf Management: Philanthropic capital, optimization of Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Waqf assets, poverty alleviation models, microfinance, and community empowerment through Islamic financial instruments.

Ethical Business, Halal Economy & Governance: Halal industry supply chains, ethical consumer behavior, Islamic corporate governance, business ethics (Muamalat), and social enterprise models in Muslim-majority and minority contexts.

Digital Transformation in Islamic Education & Finance: FinTech in Islamic finance, digital learning platforms for Islamic studies, blockchain applications for Waqf and Zakat transparency, and AI ethics from an Islamic perspective.

Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of Islamic educational and economic research, IEEEJ is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on digital Waqf management, curriculum modernization in Islamic institutions, or green Islamic finance may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
IEEEJ enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, methodological validity, and scholarly rigor across Islamic studies, education, and economics disciplines.

  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness (qualitative/quantitative research rigor, textual analysis depth, or empirical economic validity), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic scholars or senior specialists in Islamic education, Islamic economics, or Sharia law.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on intellectual merit, theoretical/empirical rigor, analytical clarity, and potential societal impact.
