Applied Economics Beam Journal (AEBJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering empirical research, quantitative economic modeling, applied econometrics, and policy-driven economic studies. Metaphorically rooted in illuminating complex economic phenomena and projecting forward-looking market insights ("Beam"), the journal serves as a premier scholarly forum for applied economists, econometricians, policy analysts, financial economists, and quantitative social scientists worldwide. AEBJ prioritizes rigorous data-driven research, micro- and macroeconomic policy evaluations, causal inference frameworks, structural econometric models, and real-world economic intervention studies. By bridging advanced economic theory with empirical data and practical policy execution, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of how applied economic insights illuminate pathbreaking solutions for market efficiency, institutional design, and sustainable growth.

Scope and Topics
Reflecting its mandate to project empirical insights across diverse economic sectors, the journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, systematic econometric reviews, applied policy evaluations, and quantitative market studies within the following thematic areas:

  • Applied Microeconomics & Market Behavior: Consumer choice dynamics, industrial organization, labor economics, health economics, behavioral economics interventions, and market design.
  • Macroeconomic Policy & Structural Transitions: Monetary policy transmission, fiscal policy evaluation, international trade dynamics, exchange rate mechanisms, economic growth models, and inflation dynamics.
  • Econometric Methodology & Data Science Applications: Causal inference methodologies, spatial econometrics, time-series analysis, panel data modeling, structural equation modeling, and machine learning in economics.
  • Financial Economics & Capital Market Dynamics: Asset pricing, corporate finance econometrics, market liquidity, banking system resilience, derivative pricing models, and financial risk propagation.
  • Environmental, Energy & Development Economics: Resource allocation economics, carbon pricing impacts, sustainable agriculture economics, poverty alleviation strategies, and urban economic dynamics.
Publication Frequency
To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and the timely dissemination of applied economic research, AEBJ is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues focusing on machine learning in empirical economics, global trade policy realignments, or climate change economics may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
AEBJ enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, quantitative rigor, and methodological validity across applied economics and econometric disciplines.
  • Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Subject Editor to assess thematic alignment, methodological soundness (econometric rigor, causal identification strategy, data validity, or theoretical soundness), and structural compliance. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.
  • Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established academic economists, econometricians, or senior policy researchers in the relevant domain.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on intellectual merit, empirical rigor, analytical clarity, and practical economic or policy impact.

Mission Statement: "The mission of the Applied Economics Beam Journal (AEBJ) is to illuminate real-world economic challenges through the projection of rigorous empirical research and econometric analysis, guiding sound policy and business decision-making globally. Grounded in the philosophy that economic theory achieves its highest value when applied to solve tangible socio-economic issues, the journal aims to democratize advanced economic research by providing an unrestricted platform for global academic, institutional, and policy dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse, rigorous quantitative, econometric, and experimental methodologies, AEBJ seeks to empower economic policy strategists, inspire empirical researchers, and shape future-proof, evidence-based economic paradigms worldwide."
